Roots rock is sweeping the nation, from early artists like Ben Harper and David Gray, who have achieved ultimate success, to up-and-comers like Guster and Iron and Wine. With the recent passing of venerable roots artist Chris Whitley, the genre has its first patron saint.



ROOTS ROCK FOR LOVERS, a semi-annual event hosted by Krister Axel at The Stone in Hollywood, is dedicated to this uniquely American music and the thriving community it’s engendered in the L.A. area. Featuring Krister Axel and his full six-piece band – complete with harmonica and backup singers – as well as three other outstanding L.A. roots musicians, this event is sure to cultivate awareness of roots rock and all that it has to offer.
