Roots: an Artist's Voice April 8, 2011

This exhibit takes place in the The Gallery of Wood Art. The invited artists are interpreting "roots" in a number of ways, from a literal reading: using root material, to exploring their own evolution or the evolution of the field. Several turners revisited materials they worked with earlier in their careers to explore possibilities from a new and perhaps deeper perspective. 'Roots' will also feature award-winning guest textile artist Vernal Bogren Swift, who will display batik wall panels as part of the Surface Design Association's annual conference that will be held in June in Minneapolis.
