Rookwood: Treasures of American Art December 7, 2006

During its years of operation from 1880 through 1967, Rookwood Pottery was one of the most important pottery businesses in the nation. Rookwood advanced the art and science of painting and glazing techniques, and its best pieces were decorated by a handful of skilful painters. The Cheekwood gift consists of many exquisite examples of vases decorated with flower motifs dating from the last two decades of the Nineteenth Century through the early Twentieth Century.
