LACE UP FOR THIS YEAR’S WALK FOR KIDS, BENEFITING RONALD McDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA®

WHAT:
Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southern California will host Walk for Kids, a non-competitive 5k (3.1 miles) pledge event for individuals at all fitness levels. This event is designed to raise funds for and awareness of Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southern California and its programs, including six Ronald McDonald Houses, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times®.

With more than 22,000 spirited participants last year, individuals and teams representing businesses, community groups, families and friends are encouraged to sign-up to participate at www.walkforkids.org.

COST:
Participants are encouraged to collect donations for Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southern California programs. No minimum donation is required.

WHY:
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California provides comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California through a number of programs including: Ronald McDonald Houses which offer low cost, and often free, temporary housing for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at adjacent hospitals and medical centers; Ronald McDonald Family Rooms serve as an oasis inside the hospital for parents with children in the pediatric intensive care unit and neonatal intensive care unit; and Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, a free, medically-supervised, sleep-away camp, provides children with cancer, and their families, an opportunity to process their diagnosis and restore their self-esteem while learning independence and self-reliance in the therapeutic environment of the great outdoors.
