This exciting collaborative music and dance project will be between Adult Dancers from Laban, and Blackheath Halls Community Orchestra.

Laban Adult Dancers will build their contemporary technique and develop their choreographic skills learning and creating movement material for Sergei Prokofiev’s score of Romeo and Juliet, and music will be played live by the Blackheath Halls Community Orchestra at a performance at the end of the course.
Term dates and Rehearsals
Monday 21 September – 1 December 2009

Class format
The format of the classes includes contemporary technique and choreography set to Prokofiev’s score. Two ability levels will be offered for this special project.
Level 1 (For beginners)
Wednesday Evenings 6.30 – 8.30pm with Stella Howard
Level 2 (For those with more experience)
Monday Evenings 6.30 – 8.30pm with Lee Smikle

Rehearsals
It will be necessary for all dancers to rehearse on Sunday afternoons:
Laban Rehearsals 1.00 – 5.00pm on 1 and 8 November
At Blackheath Halls with the orchestra 2.30 – 5.30pm on 15, 10 – 6pm 22 and 10 – 1pm on 29 November.

Performances
Final performances will be at Blackheath Halls 2.30pm Sun 29 Nov and 7.30pm on Tue 1 Dec.
