Romantic Serenades for Guitar and Piano Concert July 25, 2009

This triple bill focuses on romantic serenades for guitar and piano. Ancient Future leader Matthew Montfort is a world music pioneer, and this concert is the Sonoma County CD release party for his debut solo CD, 'Seven Serenades for Scalloped Fretboard Guitar.' The recording showcases his groundbreaking work on the scalloped fretboard guitar, a special modified instrument able to produce ornaments more characteristic of the sitar. Seth Montfort is a stunning virtuoso pianist with a tremendously large repertoire of unusual music from the New World.
