Of the new show, Roger says: Growing up in Trinidad, one of our certainties was that the West Indies cricket team was feared. We dominated world cricket. Indeed, we dominated the game at its highest levels like no team had before. Our quartet of fast bowlers was (some said) the most fearsome the game had ever seen. We had two decades of opening partnership batsmen who could not be moved and arguably the greatest batsman the game had ever seen. Further, this was a team almost exclusively made up of black men and the fact that they dominated what was traditionally seen as a colonial gentleman's sport was not lost on us. Here are the poems culled from that time and that recognition; the poems about the aspirations born of a young boy's fascination with this and all sports.

The phenomenal vocal group SAHELI will open the evening, and proceeds will go toward the louderARTS Project's efforts to raise funds to send the 2007 team to the National Poetry Slam in Austin, Texas.
