thanks for the heads up. so frustrating. this happens quite often with international musicians, one of the many ways we're culturally isolated in the US.

Visa Trouble for Rock Duo
A rising Mexican rock guitar duo has had to cancel an American tour because of visa problems, its record label said. The performers, Rodrigo y Gabriela, were scheduled to begin the tour last Sunday in Miami, but the visa renewal for one, Rodrigo Sanchez, had been held up because his name is similar to that of another foreigner who is barred from entering the United States, said Chris Tetzeli, of the band’s American record label, ATO. The duo, which specializes in rapidly played acoustic arrangements, including a version of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” was to play at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Tex., on Thursday and at Webster Hall in New York next Wednesday. Mr. Tetzeli said he hoped the pair would still be able to play scheduled American shows in April. A spokeswoman for the State Department said that it did not comment on individual cases. BEN SISARIO
