Rocky Horror Picture Show Only at Theatre 145. For years Rocky Horror has been a staple production at the Roadhouse Theatre for Contemporary Art. This year in keeping with that tradition, Rocky Horror will be presented in a new and unique way that has amazed and dazzled audience in other cities across the country. In a cutting-edge, avant-garde style, The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be presented on the big screen with a simultaneous live theatrical presentation.

This particular presentation of Rocky Horror will be offered to the people of Erie in such a way that has never been done worldwide.

Many people in many different places have presented the film Rocky Horror Picture Show with a simultaneous live program, wherein the performers sing along with the movie and act out many, if not all the scenes they are in. However, in this production our performers will not be singing along with the movie but in fact offering a live musical performance on stage, while the non-musical portions of the film are being projected on the big screen. At any given time youll have a live concert presented concurrently with the true cinematic experience.

In addition to the performers on stage, there will be several Popcorn Girls sprinkled throughout the audience without which no Rocky Horror presentation would be complete.

A unique artistic nuance of this Rocky Horror production is that instead of casting a male performer to portray the lead role of Frank-n-Furter, thinking outside the box was not good enough and decided to throw away the box and cast a female playing a part of a male playing the part of a transvestite. Although this has been done successfully a few times in other cities around the country it has never been attempted in any production in Erie.

Local theater is usually called Community Theater, which means everyone in the community is encouraged to showcase their talents. Each day as members of the Erie Arts and Entertainment Community we at GLFA are fortunate enough to meet many very talented people in all walks of life.

As with most places locally, other than the usual group of actors being it in theater or film productions, all though very talented, it is rare that we have the chance to see the everyday Joe who is not considered a professional local actor revealing their performance abilities.

As we have done with our other theatrical productions, in this presentation of Rocky Horror we have utilized this incredible, yet untapped pool of talent and not only offering a platform to both professional and non-professional performers, but distinctively casting two phenomenal, physically challenged individuals in lead rolls.

Immediately following the Rocky Horror Picture Show presentation will be the 21+ Halloween after-party.
