A one-of-its-kind, annual rock music festival launched in 2008 at Bangalore, where top Indian Rock acts converge on a common platform to present their original compositions. The festival aims to promote original music in India; to promote anti-piracy; to let rock bands decide on their requirements; to build a platform for rock bands to be recognized; and to create an international rock festival experience. The international caliber rock festival made a statement that rock bands in India no longer need rely on covers to sell popularity. Rock Ethos celebrates the spirit of rock music in the city which has grown to be one of the most happening cities in the international rock map. Raj Hansoge of Buenos, an integrated marketing solutions provider of M. Raj Hansoge Group and Vishnu Pandit of V&P Sound, the most renowned sound effects company of Bangalore, were instrumental in endowing a new perspective to Rock music in India through Rock Ethos. The highly popular event showcased the immense talent and potential that rock and metal bands native to the city possess, and elicited a passionate response from rock fans across India. From posts on social networking sites and blogs that give a rock-style bow to the concept of keeping it restricted to original compositions to frustrated comments about outstation bands being left out, the concert has been the talk of the town. With a magnificent stage setting which incorporated pyrotechnics for the first time, high quality sound and an overall carnival atmosphere that aims at recreating an international rock festival experience, Rock Ethos promises to be a rock music fan's dream come true. The fest, construed on the lines of international rock concerts, has leading rock bands performing for 45 minutes each, unlike the regular 20-30 minutes allotted time. Pyrotechnics, Bungee jumping, Paintball Contests, Food & Refreshment Zones are a part of this unique rock carnival. Rock Ethos 2009 is planned on a much larger scale and will be held for two days on Saturday, March 14th and Sunday March 15th at Palace Grounds, Bangalore. Twice the number of bands, much more lavish stage effects and a host of adventure sport activities promise a wholesome treat for all rock lovers.
