Free poetry reading featuring award-winning poet Robert Peake. Bring a poem or two for the open mic portion of the evening.

Robert Peake grew up on the border of Mexico, in the small desert farming town of El Centro, California. He received his BA in English, emphasis poetry from Berkeley and is currently in the MFA In Writing Program at Pacific University.

Robert was most recently a finalist in the 2007 James Hearst Poetry Prize. He has been a featured reader at Beyond Baroque in Venice, The World Stage in Los Angeles and The Bell Arts Factory in Ventura. His work has appeared in “California Quarterly”, Beyond The Valley Of The Contemporary Poets (2004) and Open Windows – an anthology of award-winning Southern California poets sponsored in part by the NEA. His poems are forthcoming in "North American Review" and the annual "Cider Press Review". Robert currently lives in Ojai, California with his wife, Valerie.
