Described by The New York Times as “electrifying” and hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “a local treasure,” Robert Moses’ Kin will present its own eloquent brand of contemporary dance Feb. 8 – 18, in their 12th Anniversary Home Season, at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco. The performances are comprised of three world premieres: two new works by Robert Moses — one featuring Aleta Hayes, one new piece by guest choreographer Amy Seiwert; plus a fourth piece that premiered here in the Bay Area in February 2006.

Choreographer Robert Moses was recently appointed Artist-in-Residence and Director of the Committee on Black Performing Arts at Stanford University, where he has been a lecturer and curator of dance programming since 1995. He has created over 80 works for dance, theater and film, and has been the recipient of numerous grants, awards, and fellowships including three project awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, an Irvine Dancemakers grant, the Bonnie Bird North American Choreography Award, and three Isadora Duncan Dance Awards. Most recently he became a Stanford University Artist in Residence.. A highly regarded master teacher, Moses has taught at the Bates Dance Festival, Colorado Dance Festival, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, University of Texas, and others. Moses founded his acclaimed dance company, Robert Moses’ Kin, in 1995.
