ROBERT KELLY Headlining at GOTHAM!

Actor/comedian Robert Kelly has overcome many hardships in his life, all of which have made him the comedian he is today. From his early days as a kid growing up in Boston, in and out of Juvenile Hall and schooled from the streets, Robert’s unique take on life, relationships and what it means to be a “guy” today is clever, abrasive, and yet refreshingly funny. “I just want everyone to know it’s ok to suck-- there is no comedy without tragedy,” says Kelly, who recently became engaged and is professing his relationship wisdom to the world. “I think people just want to hear about honesty in relationships… we spend so much time trying to have the friendships we see in movies, and meet the girl of our dreams, when in reality my friends suck, and love is when a girl accepts you for the piece of crap that you are,” Robert exclaimed on his way to his therapist. “I got issues, I had troubles-- I’m working them out and you get to laugh at my pain… and hopefully relate.”

Robert’s recent television credits include, “Comedy Central Presents” (Comedy Central), “Tourgasm” (HBO), “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (ABC), “Premium Blend” and "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn" (Comedy Central), "The Carson Daly Show” (NBC), “Awesomely Oversexed” (VH1) and “The Jim Breuer Show” (MTV).

His other TV credits include, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (NBC), a guest starring role on "The Job" (ABC) with Denis Leary, and he appeared as a detective playing opposite Vincent D’Onofrio on “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (NBC). With over a dozen independent films under his belt, he was recently seen in the feature film “Good Luck Chuck” (Lionsgate 2007) and will be seen in “Bachelor No. 2” (Lionsgate 2008) and “Ghost Town” (Dreamworks SKG 2008).

Robert has recently performed at the Just For Laughs Festival (Montreal), the South Beach Comedy Festival, HBO’s Comedy Festival (Las Vegas), and the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival (Aspen). In addition to clubs and colleges nationwide, he has traveled across the country in the “Tourgasm Live” tour, and is a regular on the Opie and Anthony “Traveling Virus” tour.

Coming up this year, Robert will be releasing an album with Comedy Central Records, as well as taping his own half hour special for Comedy Central.

Robert lives in New York City with his fiancée and their two dogs.
