Underground hip hop super-producer to some. Virtuoso sample-based instrument wizard to others. RJD2 embodies all of these things and more. The Philadelphia-based DJ and multi-instrumentalist has enjoyed a thoroughly prolific career after being catapulted to notoriety, fame, and serious hip hop credibility with 2002’s Dead Ringer LP. He claims his name originates from another friend who referenced him as "RJD2" in his raps, and the name stuck.
