The Rising Powers Series

World Affairs Councils of AmericaWith funding from the Nevada Humanities Committee, UNR's Political Science Department and the Associated Students at UNR, the International Center is pleased to present a Rising Powers Series with speakers on China, India and Russia over the course of the next few months. Highly regarded experts in their respective fields brought to us by the World Affairs Council will discuss the notion of a possible seachange in the way the world works, and how US foreign policy might adapt to these changes.

In this series, we proudly present the following presentation:

* Who: Steve Levine, foreign affairs correspondent for Business Week magazine

Steve Levine, foreign affairs correspondent for Business WeekSteve Levine covers foreign affairs for Business Week. He previously was correspondent for Central Asia and the Caucasus for the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times for 11 years. His first book, The Oil and the Glory, a history of the former Soviet Union through the lens of oil, was published in October 2007. Putin's Labyrinth, his new book, profiles Russia through the lives and deaths of six Russians. It was released in June 2008.

This event is free and open to the public.

Local community experts will join in a discussion immediately after the speakers' presentations.
