Last year the event moved from Clapham Common to Finsbury Park and it returns there 0n Sunday 13th July 2008.

The line-up for the day includes CSS, Jimmy Cliff, Dub Pistols featuring Terry Hall and Rodney P, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis, Trojan Soundsystem, TY, Bassekou Kouyate, The Aliens, Emmanuel Jal and more over five stages. For 2008 line-up details click here.

The event is backed by the Trades Union Congress, National Assembly Against Racism and diverse community organisations.

Ken Livingstone, whilst he was still London Mayor said: 'Rise: London United will be Europe's largest anti-racist festival celebrating the contribution of London's different communities to the life of the capital, in particular through the medium of popular music.'

Rise: London United 2008 is expected to feature a wide range of music, performance and other activities. There will also be a children's play area, food and drink, exhibitions and arts and crafts.

The event is expected to run from midday until 8:30pm. there will also be dance demonstrations and workshops in Bollywood, African, Streetdance, Flamenco, Belly dancing, and Salsa.
