Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Atlantic City to Hold 13th Annual Face Off Contest August 26, 2009

America’s Funniest Faces Invited to Drop by and Compete on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 11 a.m.

Atlantic City, N.J. (Aug. 21, 2009) – It’s time again for Ripley’s annual search for the funniest face in America! The Ripley's Believe It or Not! 13th Annual Face Off contest will take place in the lobby of Ripley’s Atlantic City museum, located at the Boardwalk and New York Avenue.

The Face Off Champion of 2009 will receive a first place prize of $300. In addition, the Face Off winner will become part of Ripley’s unbelievable collection of faces, with a photograph of his or her winning expression on display in the Atlantic City museum.

“The Face Off contest is one of our highlights of the year,” says Chris Connelly, General Manager for the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum. “Each year brings something original and exciting. We never know what we’ll see and we are always surprised with the expressions people can come up with.”

Previous Face Off contestants have appeared in Ripley’s books and brochures, on TV, and have received requests to do special appearances and grand openings.

Those who wish to be a contestant must arrive by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26 to register. The finals take place at 11. There is no fee to enter and contestants need only bring their best facial expression to try out for a spot in the Face Off finals.
