It took more than 40 years, but a Beatle will finally play at the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. While the Fab Four turned down the offer in the Sixties, Ringo Starr was scheduled to appear in 2008, but due to an equipment breakdown on the tour, the date was cancelled. This summer, audiences will finally have the opportunity to experience the legendary drummer and His All Starr Band, featuring Rick Derringer, Richard Page (Mister Mister), Wally Palmer (The Romantics), Edgar Winter and Gary Wright. For more than a decade Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band have been pleasing crowds with memorable rock-and-roll hits played by some of rock’s most talented musicians.
And for the first time Ringo Starr has decided to take charge and produce himself. The result is perhaps the most personal and impressive album of his solo career, Y Not, featuring former band mate Paul McCartney, is in-stores today.
