Ring in the New Year with Steve Sweeney at the Orpheum December 31, 2010

The Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro today announced its New Year's Eve Comedy Night with Steve Sweeney and friends!

Joined by comedians Paul Keenan, Sean Sullivan, John Garrison and Sarah Blodgett, and the Orpheum Theatre's house band Red Fox Motel, Boston comedy legend Steve Sweeney will help the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro laugh its way into 2011.

During the early 70's, in the beginning days of comedy clubs as we know them today, a small group of Boston 'would-be' comedians joined together in a back street Chinese restaurant off Inman square, in Cambridge, MA.- the now famous Ding-Ho. This group included such unknowns as Lenny Clarke, Kevin Meaney, Jay Leno, Bobcat Goldwaithe, Steven Wright, and of course, Steve Sweeney. Known for his use of dialects and great insight into the New England political scene, Steve Sweeney has been performing to sold out crowds from day one.

Other performers include: Sarah Blodgett, a Boston native who is currently a finalist in the 2010 Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival and the Magners Comedy Festival in Boston; John Garrison, a St. Louis, MO native whose stand-up is featured on XM Radio; Paul Keenan, a popular New England comic who has performed at the Wilbur Theatre, The Comedy Connection, Giggles, Nick's Comedy Stop, and more; and Sean Sullivan, a Boston native who has been named one of the top comics in Boston by the Boston Herald, The Boston Globe, and the Phoenix newspapers.

After the comedy performance, a DJ and Red Fox Motel, the Orpheum Theatre's house band, will help count down the seconds until 2011!
