Who is Robert Jospe’?

Drummer/composer Robert Jospe’ has received critical acclaim throughout the Jazz world as one the industry’s most inventive percussionists. Jospe’ and his Jazz/world beat ensemble Inner Rhythm fuse Jazz with salsa, samba, swing, funk and African rhythms to create a unique contemporary style of music. His CDs consistently receive high marks from critics and fans. JazzTimes writer, Thomas Conrad called Jospe’ a “relentless drummer/percussionist” whose band plays “with a jubilant, life-affirming energy”. The ensemble performs at festivals, concert halls, college venues and clubs throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and has been featured as a touring artist with the Virginia Commission for the Arts since 1992.

Jospe’ is a faculty member of the University of Virginia’s Music Department and performs with their highly acclaimed faculty Jazz ensemble, The Free Bridge Quintet.
