A true American folk storyteller, Richard Shindell weaves stories out of cleverly invented characters, like an illegal immigrant in "Fishing", a World War II soldier in "Sparrow's Point", or an Argentine grandmother in "Abuelita." His ability to project vivid images through sung lyrics is a rare one, giving the audience the ability to actually see his characters. Having learned from the great Joan Baez, who recorded three of his best songs and whom he toured with, a Richard Shindell show should not be missed.
