St Edward's Passage

The Men In My Life is a celebration of the remarkable work that Richard Alston has made for male dancers. The programme ranges from an early solo, Strider (1971), through to choreography originally made for such outstanding dancers as Michael Clark, Darshan Singh Bhuller and Martin Lawrance, right up to the latest dances for Jonathan Goddard, nominated this year for the Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance.

The programme also features Richard Alston’s Blow Over, set to the racing pace of Philip Glass’s Songs From Liquid Days; and Shuffle It Right, inspired by the idiosyncratic and jazzy songs of Hoagy Carmichael.

"A Company that has steadily raised its game. Every curl of the hand or kick of the leg is a pleasure to watch"
- The Scotsman

"A wonderfully joyful way to end the evening"
- The Daily Telegraph on Shuffle It Right
