Retreat for Activists and Organizers of Color April 29, 2008

This is an inspiring yet relaxing retreat for activists and organizers committed to transforming the culture of organizing. 6-8 mentors, senior organizers and activists with experience in contemplative practices, will serve as allies.

We encourage registrations from individuals beginning their careers in activism and organizing, ages 17-35. The objectives for the gathering are:

* Rest, rejuvenation and relaxation.
* Assisting emerging activists and organizers in developing methods of sustaining themselves.
* Creating a network of peers who can act as a local resource for others who might be interested in contemplative practice.
* Creating a continuing community of activists and organizers that provides support, communication, sharing of ideas, and resources.
