Career Cats Chennai presents a Mini-Workshop about how to write sensationally different Resumes and crack Job Interviews by making a lasting impression!

"He or she who gets hired is not necessarily the one who can do that job best; but, the one who knows the most about how to get hired."
-Richard Lathrop.

Senior Management people in the corporate world read thousands of resumes every year and interview hundreds of people from these resumes. It is a tiring job, believe me. It is a tough decision to even shortlist 5 resumes from a bunch of 20 and to hire 2 people from these 5.

And in this context, who do you think has a better chance of getting called for an interview? An outstanding person with an average CV or and average person with an Outstanding CV?

This half-day workshop has two sections..

Section 1: Create Sensationally Different Resumes
In this section I will share techniques on how your resume can stand out from the crowd and get the employers attention in 10 seconds flat, which is so critical when he/she is sifting through a huge pile of resumes! You will also understand fundamentals of what to put in a CV and more importantly what NOT to put. Some of the questions answered in this section are:

- How you can rewrite your CV to change it from a document containing factual information about your career to a powerful and persuasive marketing tool to sell yourself, a brand called YOU!
- What are the 10 critical questions you need to ask yourself to get clarity about your own career aspirations (You will do this in the Workshop as an Exercise)
- What recruiters are actually expecting in your CV
- How you can exceed those expectations
- Why 90% of all CVs (worldwide) are outright dull and uninspiring and how to ensure that yours is not one of them
- What are the most common CV mistakes and how to avoid them
- What you need to do for your CV to keep pace with a career that could last as long as 30-35 years
- Why cosmetic jazzing up of your CV is more likely to distract than grab attention
- What style of CV suits YOU best and why it may have to change over time
- Why, at times the best strategy is to NOT submit a CV!

Section 2: Crack Job Interviews
You’ve set high expectations with the Interviewer when you gave a super-interesting Resume. Hey - the employer is looking forward to meet you. The onus now is on you to live upto those expectations.. and leave a mark.

The techniques you will learn here will help you put your best foot forward in an Interview and increase your chances of clinching that job!
In this section you will understand:
- How difficult it is for an Employer to evaluate you in a short span of 30-45 minutes and how you can make that decision easier for him/her.
- How to kick off an interview with a bang!
- Why it is important to READ your interviewer and his personality type within the first 5 minutes of the interview
- Breakthrough body-language oriented techniques that help you READ your interviewer in those first 5 minutes and how to instantly re-orient your own style to gel with that of the interviewer (while still being true to your own core behaviour)
- Why it is importantly to take a risk in an interview and why it more often than not pays off
- How to hold your head high in an interview and 'grill' your interviewer as much as he/she grills you (and why this is crucial)
- How to handle rejection after an interview and believe that there's a world of possibilities out there!
- Why the Universe always (and without exception) gives you what you ask, IF (and only if) YOU want it badly enough!
