This year's RESFEST global tour makes its third US stop next week when it arrives at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood from Thursday, September 29 through Sunday, October 2.
RESFEST offers its broadest slate of programming ever this year, with expanded film content, a continuing live music series, panels and seminars, studio tours and interactive entertainment.

Innovative filmmkaing remains the core of RESFEST, and there's more of that than ever this year, with numerous hybrid techniques appearing throughout RESFEST Shorts One, Two and Three, our annual motion graphics roundup By Design and this year's special thematic program Cut and Paste, which examines collage and mixed media techniques.
RESFEST 2005 also offers three brilliant music video programs, including longtime favorites Cinema Electronica, Videos That Rock and this year's special retrospective devoted to Beck's groundbreaking video collaborations. Los Angeles attendees get an extra bonus in the form of New Order: Early Years, surveying the synth-pop pioneers' '80s music video endeavors with leading directors. Three different documentaries screen as well, looking at various manifestations of urban culture in the US and abroad: Doug Pray's latest, Infamy, looks at the passion and pain behind graffiti art; Just for Kicks examines the worldwide sneaker fetish; and Ginga draws a portrait of the unique drive and gr! ace behind Brazilian soccer.
Our closing night director retrospective is devoted to the hilarious commercial experiments of Swedish collective Traktor, while Triple Threat spotlights up-and-comers Jonnie Ross, Nagi Noda and François Vogel, and Two by Mike Mills pairs two little seen shorts by the acclaimed Thumbsucker director.

But there's lots more than film to check out at this year's RESFEST, beginning with a director keynote courtesy of acclaimed director Mark Romanek (Beck, R.E.M., David Bowie). Our popular studio tours return, taking attendees inside creative environments on the West and East Sides. And our new panel discussions include a music video roundtable Inside Music Video, a foray into art and current copyright law Copy Fight, a graffiti discussion Street Art or Not and, only in LA, a preview of the much-anticipated 2006 film A Scanner Darkly. Plus, don't miss our Saturday night live music extravaganza in the Egyptian courtyard, featuring Prefuse 73 ! and DJ Nobody.

Arrive early to experience immersive environments in the RESFEST Lounge featuring interactive art installations, the RES store and more.
