FLUORESCENT GREY - RECORDLABELRECORDS, CALIFORNIA- Northern California
based producer Robbie Martin began making and performing electronic
music at age fifteen with nothing more than a 486 pc, visual basic
programs, record players and a homemade acoustic drum machine
utilizing toy car motors and pulleys. Since appearing on RRR and
Ovenguard Records compilations; his style has evolved over the years
from what could be described as experimental noise to a more
rhythmically cohesive, collage of sounds. Drawing inspiration from
artists such as Farmer's Manual, Zoviet France, Coil, Art of Noise and
Bartok; Robbie's audio experimentation has expanded to include custom
made software, surround sound field recording, conceptual patchwork
video sampling, and visual synthesizer art. Expect noisy beats that
induce hallucinations.

OPTIC - ISOLATE RECORDS, NYC - Isolate records founder OPTIC has been
making electronic music since 1992. This will be his 3rd or 4th live
set for pin:ksox in toronto. Or something. To be honest were always
too drunk by the end of the night to keep these things straight.
OPTICs live set is not to be missed; a mixture of danceable, complex,
and abstract rhythms, ambient dub atmospheres, and moving synth tones.
