CRASH COURSE IN GRANT WRITING // May 27, 2009 9 am - noon Well cover the basics of successful grant writing from start to finish. You will learn what funders want, how to identify potential donors, design fundable projects, write winning proposals and build relationships with funders. Learn from sample proposals and useful checklists to help you evaluate your own proposals.
CREATING YOUR FUNDRAISING PLAN // May 27, 2009 1 - 4 pmLearn how to create a realistic and diversified plan to raise money for your nonprofit organization. We will discuss the pros and cons of common fundraising methods and how to maximize their success. Youll learn how to make a compelling case to donors and how to steward donor relationships. Do you feel anxiety about asking for money? You'll learn tips and techniques for conquering this fear.

These workshops are ideal for fundraisers, executive directors, board members and volunteers with less than three years fundraising experience.

Location
Workshops
take place at the downtown Vancouver YWCA at 535 Hornby Street, with
convenient parking and the Burrard Skytrain nearby. Refreshments will
be provided. Participants taking both workshops will be on their own
for lunch.

Facilitator
Andrea Seale, Certified Fundraising Executive and principal of Blueprint Fundraising, leads the sessions. Over the last 12 years she has helped raise millions of dollars for some of the communitys leading nonprofit organizations and she will share the lessons learned along the way. She is a highly rated presenter, teaches in the BCIT Fundraising Management program and has a broad range of fundraising ideas and knowledge to share with you.
