Registration will open at 8 am on Tuesday, August 18 for two Fall sessions of art classes for children and adults at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. Class schedules and registration forms are available at the Museum and on the website http://museums.las-cruces.org. The first fall session of classes will begin the week of September 8 and run through the week of October 20. The second session will begin the week of October 27 and end the week of December 15. Tuition is due in full at the time of registration.

The two-dimensional art classes for adults offered this Fall are drawing, watercolor, acrylic painting, classical oil painting, and pastel painting. The Museum is proud to introduce the new class Learning to Draw: A New Way to See. In this beginning to intermediate course, students will explore the foundations of drawing, learning how to understand the world around them visually. The classes offered for the ever-popular ceramics program are beginning-intermediate, intermediate-advanced, and Elaborate Surfaces in Clay. Classes on weaving, 3-dimensional design, digital photography and Photoshop are also offered.

The classes offered for young artists include ceramics, with classes to accommodate ages 4 – 12, and Art-o-Rific Mixed Media, for ages 6-8. In this drawing, painting, and block printing class, projects are based on the techniques of famous painters, such as Picasso, Kandinsky, and Pollock. Art supplies are included in the tuition for children’s classes.
