In the midst of recording their debut EP, hometown indie-rock outfit REGARDING JACK will take the stage at Detroit Bar on Thursday, August 23. Doors open at 9pm. Tickets are $6.00 and available night of show only.

REGARDING JACK are best known in the local scene for their participation with artistic freedom fighters eVocal, a Costa-Mesa based “creative arts lifestyle boutique” and performance establishment that provides a voice and platform for promising indie musicians and artists within the community. The four-piece took the stage at eVocal this past June and plan to continue working with the organization on a new line of t-shirts inspired by and created for REGARDING JACK.

Initially formed in 2005, REGARDING JACK hit its true stride earlier this year when Ali Zakka (bass, backing vocals), Jay Akins (electric guitars) Chris Jones (drums/percussion, backing vocals) and Andrew Corradini (lead vocals, acoustic/electric guitars and keyboards) all joined forces after a few years of encountering each other on the local music scene. Citing influences ranging from frozen bananas (that’s right, the food) to Tom Waits to Social Distortion, REGARDING JACK’S collective depiction of their sound captures much of the band’s energy, enthusiasm and musical tone.
