Our November event features author Scott Berkun, who will be joining us to present material from his new book titled Confessions of a Public Speaker.

For leaders, managers and anyone who speaks and expects someone to listen, Berkun will explain an insiders perspective on how to effectively present ideas to anyone. Loosely based on the new book, Confessions of a Public Speaker, in this interactive talk you'll learn from lively lessons and insightful confessions, giving you new insights into the art of persuasion-as well as teaching and learning, directly from a master of the trade. For Refresh, he'll be emphasizing situations designers and creative people face. Please bring your toughest questions and situations as he'll spend as much time as possible on them.

Early praise for the book includes:

A fresh, fun, memorable take on the most critical thing: what we say. Highly recommended."
- Chris Anderson, Editor-In-Chief, Wired magazine

- Suzy Welch, Best selling author and public speaker

"Loved it! This is a very informative and entertaining look at the important art of public speaking. Anyone who speaks for a living- including teachers - will greatly benefit from this book."
- Garr Reynolds, Author of Presentation Zen

".packed with invaluable tips and advice - gold dust for anyone who ever has to talk to a crowd. If only there was a way I could send a copy to myself ten years ago!"
- Tom Standage, business editor for The Economist

Our friends at O'Reilly have donated a few copies of Scott's new book to give away to attendees and Microsoft is providing pizza for attendees (let us know if you'd like to support Refresh Boston in the future).

After Scott's talk, we'll be walking over to Tommy Doyle's at One Kendall Square for drinks, food, and more conversation.
