Reelin' on the River Movie Series September 4, 2010

This exhibition includes a range of intriguing and especially vibrant portraits from the museum's permanent and loan collections. Many demonstrate dynamic collaboration between artist and sitter. Whether portrait sitters strike stationary or active poses, artists often present distinctive - and sometimes intentionally imaginary - interpretations of their characters and lives. On view are works by Benjamin West, Jefferson David Chalfant, N.C. Wyeth, Norman Rockwell, Peter Hurd, Andrew Wyeth, Jamie Wyeth, and many others.
