Come for the salsa… stay for the Salsa, at Redwood City’s Salsa Festival, on Saturday September 20th. Amateur and professional Salsa chefs will compete for fun, prizes, and Salsa Glory at the mouth watering and exciting Salsa Tasting & Competition, where the public takes part in judging. Three stages of live music with Latin, Salsa and Family themes, as well as free dance lessons, will keep Redwood City grooving all day long. Along with tasty salsa, local restaurants will also offer their delicious fares throughout the day. Featuring stunning Salsa gardens, eclectic Art Cars, exciting hands-on art projects, beautiful murals, chalk art and more, this family festival also hosts Art on the Square, with artists and artisans exhibiting their wares and crafts. Redwood City’s Salsa Festival guarantees a fun-filled day of tongue-tingling salsa, great activities, music, entertainment, food, beverages, and a wonderful time for the entire family from noon until 8 pm.

• Courthouse Square Salsa Stage with Free Dance lessons

Competitions galore:
• $500 Cash prize awarded for overall best tasting, most spectacular, delicious salsa as decided by a team of judges with all categories combined
• Award for Best Decorated Booth
• Awards for most creative, best fruit, best mild, best hot salsa and People’s Choice
• Salsa Garden contest furnished by Redwood City Schools to be judged at the event

Much of the event takes place on Broadway between Middlefield and Hamilton and on the beautiful new Theatre Way. With its retail shops and restaurants complete with outdoor dining, Theatre Way is a great place to eat, drink, shop, stroll, and meet up with friends and family. Theatre Way and parts of Broadway will be pedestrian-only, making this a family-friendly event not to miss!
