Red Wanting Blue has been called the hardest working rock band in America. This isn't surprising considering leader Scott Terry's decade-long dedication to the road. His songs about its trials, sung in a remarkable radio-ready baritone, are backed by his expert band's shimmering new-classic rock sound. Twelve of these tunes comprise this Columbus, Ohio-based band's first official label release.

These Magnificent Miles was written on the road and is about life on the road. Produced by Jamie Candiloro (Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson, REM) in Columbus and mixed in Los Angeles, the album captures the feel and sound of Red Wanting Blue live - an addictive show that has earned the band a loyal following which stomps, cheers and sings along. It's an album for all of the musicians who live this way of life and it lifts the veil on what it means to be an underdog in a touring rock band.

This story is now the subject of a feature-length documentary about Red Wanting Blue being produced by Davenport Theatrical (Avenue Q, Will Ferrell's You're Welcome America, Alter Boyz) that draws its focus on the band's tireless stamina and dedication. "There is a romance to this circus life," Terry says. "With a little luck, and a lot of support from the greatest fans a band could have, we hope to ride this open road like a hammer into history."

Riley Etheridge, Jr. may call New York City his home now, but his music sounds like he's still living down South.

"Powder Keg" ignites with the fiery Southern-style, blues-rocking title track that opens the disc, and Etheridge keeps a Louisiana groove going on songs like the funky "Scene of the Crime," the lively, Zydeco-flavored "She's Ready Already" and the soulful rocker "Look At The State We're In" (a heartfelt commentary on his beloved state. Etheridge's musical journeys on this 10-song set also take listeners to Texas on his cover of Willis Alan Ramsey's "Northeast Texas Women."

The album got Etheridge back on the road, touring America, including a stop at Baton Rouge's Varsity Theatre. Etheridge went to LSU in Baton Rouge and wound up getting a musical education playing in the popular local group, River City Good Time Band. A drummer since he was a kid, Etheridge switched over to guitar and keyboards in this band, which provided him with a strong roots music background.

A South Carolina native, Etheridge spent many years living - and playing music - in Louisiana, and listening to his sophomore effort, "Powder Keg," it's as if he has never left.
