Explore the science behind all things hot at 'Red Hot Science.' Children and their families will have the opportunity to make lava lamps, learn about fire safety and discover the secrets of pyrotechnics at this fun-filled day. Additionally, children can show off their skills in 'Crawl, Drag... Squirt!' the Science Center's firefighter combat challenge for children. Local chef Chris Gonyo will cook up spicy foods for those brave enough to test their senses. Families have the opportunity to try the various levels of heat with samples comparing peppers. Other activities include making homemade hand warmers and learning how thermometers work.
