As the summer rolls in, prepare to hear those horns in the distance, bass reverberating far and wide, and the waft of jerk chicken in the air… it’s Carnival time!

Red Bull Music Academy is excited to be hosting a stage at this year’s Nottingham Caribbean Carnival on Saturday 18th August. A free event held at the Forest Recreation Ground since 1994, the two-day Carnival celebrates true island culture, combining live soca, samba and reggae music with Caribbean food and street dances. Red Bull Music Academy has assembled an epic line-up, giving hot new talent the opportunity to perform with their music legends together on one stage. The line-up includes bass fusionist Redlight and Dread MC, carnival king Norman Jay MBE, Trojan Records boss Earl Gateshead, Doc Daneeka, Lunice, The Heatwave, plus Nottingham scene stalwarts The Elementz, RubberDub Spam Chop and Mimm plus another very special guest. The carnival will be followed by an official afterparty hosted by Detonate.

The Nottingham Caribbean Carnival is a FREE event. To be part of it, simply turn up from 12.00pm for free admission, subject to site capacity. For more information on the rest of the Carnival programme visit http://www.tuntum.co.uk/carnival/
