Tall, Dark and Handsome is an acoustic folk trio based in Lexington, Kentucky. Its members include Karen Jones (fiddle and guitar), Bev Futrell, (guitar and harmonica), and George Neel (mandolin). Karen and Bev, also members of the Reel World String Band, team up with long time friend George Neel, an accomplished jazz musician. The songwriting and country-inspired singing of Bev Futrell gives this trio its grounding and its expression of place, while the musical prowess of Karen and George connects us to the rich repertoire of hot fiddle/mandolin traditional tunes and jazz standards. The juxtaposition of tradition and jazz in this combination of talented musicians showcases some of the best of acoustic music with distinct harmony singing and smooth instrumental renderings - a lasting image of American music roots.
