“Imagine a New Orleans street band playing Indian Bollywood tunes with a go-go beat — you can't? Then just listen, because your day is about to get better. It's a crazy blast of fun.” – All Songs Considered

Pioneering Brooklyn dhol n' brass band Red Baraat has made a name for itself as one of the best live bands playing anywhere in the world. Led by dhol player Sunny Jain, the nine-piece band – comprised of dhol (a double-sided, barrel-shaped, North Indian drum slung over one shoulder) drumset, percussion, sousaphone, and five horns – melds the infectious North Indian rhythm Bhangra with a host of sounds, namely funk, go-go, Latin, and jazz. Simply put, Sunny Jain and Red Baraat have created and defined an explosive sound entirely their own.

Due to the potential for overwhelming fun, the Modlin Center is offering both seated tickets and standing orchestra pit passes for this event.

This tour engagement of Red Baraat is supported in part by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation’s Tours program with support from the National Endowment for the Arts’ Regional Touring Program.
