Reclaiming their Rights: Gender-Based Violence and the Status of Women in Israel March 22, 2007

Join Ayelet Wieder-Cohen and Riki Shapiro from Kolech (Religious Women’s Forum) and Naomi Schneiderman from the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel for a discussion on the challenges they face in their work to empower women to improve their lives and serve as agents of change.

Kolech works to improve the status of women through a consensual process of change from within the Orthodox community, through educational programs, publications, leadership training, and advocacy.

The Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel and the ten Rape Crisis Centers in the country are the only organizations in Israel dedicated solely to combating sexual violence. ARCCI initiates, promotes and supports new projects to improve equality between the sexes in Israel and to reduce physical and sexual violence.
