Square Peg Productions presents

reasons to be pretty
by Neil LaBute

how much is pretty worth?

Greg’s tight-knit social circle is thrown into turmoil when an offhand remark about a female co-worker’s pretty face gets back to his girlfriend. When Greg’s best friend and his wife also enter the picture, the emotional equation becomes exponentially more complicated. As their relationships crumble, four friends are forced to confront a sea of deceit, infidelity, and betrayed trust on their quest to answer the all-important question: “How much is pretty worth?”

With reasons to be pretty, LaBute examines the social obsession with physical beauty and confronts it headlong in a brutal and exhilarating way. Starring Paul Denny (Lowdown, Offspring, Rats and Cats, Wilfred); Square Peg Productions, in conjunction with Sassy Red Productions, proudly bring you the Melbourne Premiere of this brilliant work.

“LaBute has exchanged misanthropy for empathy, reaping unexpected dividends; some of the freshest and most illuminating dialogue to be heard anywhere.” - The New York Times
