True, Live Storytelling! There's nothing like it in the East Bay. Once a month, above a classy bar in downtown Walnut Creek, there's a party going on. This Month's story theme is 'Love, Near-Love and Non-Love'. Come listen to 4-5 scheduled stories and you can also put your name in the hat to be drawn to tell a story. Sometimes the stories from the audience are amazing. Tell a story and you get a free drink.

'1515 Restaurant & Lounge' has great food & drinks and we take over the upstairs. Enter from the front, outside entrance.

Storytellers must follow only three rules: 1) story must be true 2) must tell in 10minutes or less and 3) no notes or memorization. Stories are usually funny, often poignant, always true. We've had stories from ex-cons, authors, waitresses, teachers, transgendered comics, radio & TV personalities, professional athletes, seniors, college students, and others. Past themes have been Odd Jobs, Kitchen Confidential, Family Matters, Gits, Vacations, Animal Out on a Limb, and others. This is our 11th month and we're having a ball.

Started by a former stand-up comic, Kay DeMartini, she fell in love with this format and it's caught on. It only happens one night a month, and will never be repeated - don't miss it!
