SUMMARY: Ready To Rise is a humanitarian art and fashion event which has several objectives: to present the art, culture, history and tourism potential of Vojvodina, Serbia; to establish and develop international cultural and economic cooperation; to support women’s
entrepreneurship; and to increase cultural and political diplomacy
through arts, fashion and music by fundraising for a non-profit
organizations. In addition to a runway show featuring Svetlana
Horvat, an internationally recognized fashion designer from Serbia,
the work of regional Serbian artists will be showcased and sold in a
live auction to raise money to support human rights and economic
empowerment of women and families in the region and internationally
through entrepreneurship.

ABOUT OUR RECIPIENT CHARITY:
The Fund for Aid to Refugees, Expelled and Displaced Persons (The
FUND)

47,382 refugees (48% of all refugees in Serbia) live in the province
of Vojvodina, Serbia; The Fund for Aid to Refugees, Expelled and
Displaced Persons provides resources to help refugees return to their
home countries or become legally integrated into the local community.
Additionally, the Fund reaches out to marginalized Serbian citizens
with economic and social resources that include housing and self-
employment subsidies to establish companies, workshops, agencies or
other types of businesses. In 2008 alone, the Fund provided housing
for 110 families, as well as economic and social support to over 4,000
beneficiaries. With the funds raised by events like Ready To Rise, the
Fund will be able to purchase more village houses and gardens for
refugee families in 2010.
