New York City is real estate capital of the world, and yet grassroots community planning flourishes. In "New York For Sale: Community Planning Confronts Global Real Estate," Tom Angotti writes about grassroots planners in our fare city. He details how activists moved beyond street protests and began to formulate community plans to protect neighborhoods against urban renewal, gentrification
and other forces of displacement. Angotti is the Director of the CUNY Hunter College Center for Community Planning and Development.
