The Reading Art Book Club (RABC) will hold its first general meeting at 2:30 on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. The meeting will focus on the books Rodin, The Shape of Genius, by Ruth Butler and Auguste Rodin, by Rainer Maria Rilke, in conjunction with the upcoming exhibition RODIN: In His Own Words. Copies of the books are available at the Branigan Library, or through Inter-Library loan.
The Reading Art Book Club is dedicated to exploring the connections between art and literature by reading and discussing books. As much as possible, books selected will relate, echo, or enhance the Museums varied exhibitions. The club plans to meet the second Wednesday of every month. Future titles will be selected by consensus. Depending on participation, an evening meeting can be added.
