Los Angeles, CA – 20 years ago, Deano Goretti left a life of crime to start over in a quiet Maine town with a new wife and a new son. When his buried past comes knocking on his door, the two worlds suddenly collide with a vengeance. The plot twists and turns like a snake moving towards a hypnotized rat in John Pollono’s dark comedy about fathers and sins. Elina deSantos directs this World Premiere production for Rogue Machine.

John Pollono (Playwright) is a young Los Angeles playwright whose works have been produced at the Ivy Substation, The Lounge Theatre, Actor’s Circle Theatre, and Theatre Unlimited. John wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed play Lost and Found which had its world premiere in 2006 and was directed by John Perrin Flynn. As an actor, John has recently appeared onstage at the Odyssey Theatre in The Chicago Conspiracy Trial (LA Weekly Award Nominee) and A Small Tragedy. He can be seen in the upcoming feature films Thunder Geniuses (2008) and Fort McCoy (2009). RAZORBACK was chosen by an overwhelming response through Rogue Machine’s ‘Rogue’s Gallery Play Reading Festival.’

Elina de Santos (Director) has devoted her entire professional career to the study, application and teaching of both theater and film. An award-winning director, producer and casting director, Elina’s Los Angeles directing credits include the highly acclaimed Vincent in Brixton by Nicholas Wright (Pasadena Playhouse), Pacific Resident Theatre’s Rocket to the Moon by Clifford Odets (LADCC Nominee for direction 2004), Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, Orpheus Descending by Tennessee Williams (which garnered multiple awards including the top LADCC Awards for performance, direction and production 2003), and Edward Albee’s A Delicate Balance. For the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Elina has directed the LA Premiere and multi-award winning Speed the Plow by David Mamet, Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, the nine month run of Clifford Odets’ Awake and Sing!, and currently Proof by David Auburn. With the Ark Theatre Company she has helmed a production of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House (LA Weekly nomination for Best Direction). Elina is a member of the Actors’ Studio Playwrights and Directors Unit headed by Mark Rydell and Lyle Kessler.

RAZORBACK marks the 3rd main stage production (following the critically acclaimed West Coast Premiere of AMERICAN DEAD by Brett Neveu and Jeffrey Hatcher’s COMPLEAT FEMALE STAGE BEAUTY) for LA’s newest theatre company ROGUE MACHINE.
