Ray Bonneville

A one-man band of roots and country blues, with arch top electric guitar, harmonica, footboard percussion and vocals

Murphy Productions is excited to host Redhouse Records recording artist,
Ray Bonneville, at the Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael on November 1st. Bonneville is a singer-songwriter with a percussive blues guitar style that makes a rhythm section redundant. His almost antique arch-top guitar and footboard percussion are augmented by smoky vocals mixed with outstanding rack harmonica playing (he started life as a harp blues player and added guitar later). His unique, roots influenced, country blues material and riveting performance style capture new fans wherever he goes. Ray has played all over the continent for 30 years, with “home” being Quebec (where he was born), Boston, New Orleans, Colorado, Seattle, Alaska (where he was also a bush pilot), and for the last twelve years, Montreal. Now he has just moved to Austin, Texas. A citizen of both Canada and the US, and bilingual, he is also well-known on the European circuit. Bonneville has been devoted to his art from childhood: "When I first heard good blues and country music I was very young, but I felt a deep stirring excitement within, which told me right then what to do with my life." The Falkirk Cultural Center’s classy parlor is the perfect intimate venue to enjoy this exceptional talent as he passes through the Bay Area. Seating is limited to 60.
