Raw-Dios: Behind the Pigpen in the Morning is an original play written and produced by the HeadRush Crew. It is March 2003: flags are waving, bombs are dropping and the "Pigpen" morning-drive DJ's are throwing a party. But when DJ Chorizo Chuy publicly questions the war, he faces a choice between prestige and principle. Meanwhile, radio listeners must confront some tough decisions of their own.

Raw-Dios features HeadRush - Rosa Gonzales, xago Juarez, and Lakin Valdez - teaming with nationally recognized performer Tommy Shepard, and national SLAM poetry champion Ramona Webb to create a fresh, provocative play that draws upon the rich California traditions of popular theater, hip-hop and spoken word. The play is a clarion call for unity among youth and communities of color struggling to find voice in the cacophony of contemporary corporate-run media.
