RapidFTR (http://rapidftr.com) is a project that ThoughtWorks is currently working on with students from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University (http://itp.nyu.edu).

RapidFTR allows essential data about children in emergency situations to be collected and uploaded to a secure database from a mobile, so that registered aid workers can reunite them with their families.
This process is called Family Tracing and Reunification. In Haiti, it's being done on carbon paper.

We'll be running a code-jam in our London office (Covent Garden/Holborn) on Saturday, 27th March.
We will ensure to allocate projects which suit your experience and make use of it in the most efficient way. Please let me know as soon as possible if you're able to attend.

If you think a colleague of you might be interested in coming along please bring him, but do let us know in advance.
I'll be in touch with further details regarding the event closer to the date.

It would be great if you could join us that day and contribute some of your time and skills.

Best regards,
