When Be Here Now was published in 1970, it upended the way the “sixties generation” thought about everything. With Be Here Now, Ram Dass brought the richness of Indian spirituality into a tumultuous American landscape.

Ram Dass has become one of the best loved of all Western dharma teachers, and in the forty years since Be Here Now debuted, his legendary books, lectures, workshops, and retreats have humored, challenged, delighted, and inspired countless people to explore the deepest regions of their hearts.

Between the early 1980s and 2005, Ram Dass led numerous week-long retreats at Breitenbush, and the Be Here Now 40th Anniversary is a perfect time to celebrate and honor this remarkable teacher.

Ram Dass will welcome us Thursday evening from his home on Maui via cyber-call, and will join us for a full-on “tele-satsang” Saturday afternoon. This “gathering of the tribe” in Ram Dass’s honor will include guru stories, dharma talks, meditation, yoga, kirtan and chanting, along with a special slide show and video clips, all amid the beauty of Breitenbush.
