Cine-Spirit Award Night (National Hispanic Cultural Center)
Help us celebrate filmmaking in Albuquerque with a special Tricentennial event featuring legendary animator and filmmaker Ralph Bakshi. Mayor Martin Chavez will present Bakshi -- the creator of such classics as "Fritz the Cat," "Heavy Traffic," "Wizards," and "The Lord of the Rings -- with the newly minted Cine-Spirit Award. View a retrospective of Bakshi's work and join us for what is sure to be a spirited Q & A session, followed by the debut screening of the the first animated work created specifically for the festival by a team of award-winning animators.

Tickets go on sale July 10 and are $13. (Tickets may be purchased in advance at the National Hispanic Cultural Center box office Tuesday through Saturday and day of the event. There is no service charge through the box office. Tickets are also available at Ticketmaster by calling 883-7800, or visiting Ticketmaster.com, but will include a service charge.)
