CD Release Celebration! Two of the world's renowned masters of ancient stringed instruments, the Iraqi oud and the Indian sarod, will come together to present the Ancient Sounds 2009 Tour in support of their upcoming 2009 CD release Ancient Sounds. 2008 Grammy nominee, Iraqi virtuoso oud musician & composer, Rahim AlHaj and the acclaimed Indian sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan will perform together accompanied by Middle Eastern and Indian percussion on their first joint US tour. This remarkable collaboration between these two widely acknowledged and consummate string instrumentalists, brings together the musical heritage of their respective ancient cultures in a contemporary way resulting in a mesmerizing and harmonious musical dialogue. The tour promises to bring the collaboration to a new and exciting level.
